If it should cost more than that, I'll eat the difference (in the lower 48 that is). I see similar guitars shipping for more like $35. Neck through and a thick fingerboard make thi. This is a super solid players grade bass for the money. Offers below that frankly will probably be ignored though - I can hold it another 35 years! :) (assuming rejuvenation technology becomes available before then) There is fret wear, lots of little dings, and a couple of big chips here and there. Shipping will have to be covered by buyer though. Serial number is 00117749 if you'd like to look it up. Strings are a probably 10 years old, but as little use as they get, they still seem fine to me. YCL-621 The finest Grenadilla wood goes into this professionals favorite. Yamaha recommends that you call the customer service number on the Guitar & Bass Serial Number Wizard page if the serial number of the guitar you are checking appears to be invalid. let's see if I can get some $ for something I can use? Note that serial numbers repeat every 10 years. So after 36 years why am I selling now? Please use the information below to determine the production date. I do NOT know if it was made in Japan - but if someone can tell me where to look I'd be happy to! However again the serial number appears to indicate Japan. The serial number will always be to the RIGHT of the model number. I bought this around 1979 as best I recall - but the serial number, (as best I can understand the doc on Yamaha serial numbers) seems to indicate 1980.
